Chew Valley School achieved the eduCCate Global Bronze Award, 2021.

“The most dangerous experiment we can conduct with our children is to keep school the same at a time when every other aspect of our society is dramatically changing.”

We have a bold ambition.
And you can be part of it!

We help your teachers and staff build knowledge and confidence incrementally over time. Our a structured, step-wise approach is designed to make it easy for teachers and staff to engage with the content and to involve and activate students. eduCCate Global wants to see a world where every school, and every teacher, is equipped to inspire and empower students to thrive in our climate-challenged world.

To achieve our vision, eduCCate Global is creating the best and most accessible climate change teacher training and support in the world by partnering with climate experts and thought leaders from around the globe.

Today, with the help of our headteachers and teachers, we continue to learn and build on our early success to evolve and improve our coherent whole-school approach to climate change education that prepares future-ready students.

Our schools are not school as usual.

Our coherent whole school approach to climate change education is designed to:

  • Embed climate change in the ethos of your school over time
  • Develop and support Climate Change Teachers who are confident and able to engage students around the science of the climate crisis and its implications for their future and the future of the planet and have access to ongoing professional development
  • Help your school build a strong network of adult allies for your students who are facing a level of uncertainty that the world has never experienced
  • Develop students who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive and lead the change that the world needs now.

We help your teachers and staff build knowledge and confidence incrementally over time.

Our structured step-wise approach is designed to make it easy for teachers and staff to engage with the content and involve and activate students.

Our coherent whole school approach is at the core.

The Sustainability and Climate Literacy Leadership Teams. Our approach builds capacity, engagement and expertise across the school as our Award program rolls out, upskilling teachers, educating and involving students and expanding the community of practice throughout the school and broader community.

We encourage you to design your team strategically to include a range of staff and teachers from across the school community.

Bronze – 1 Sustainability and Climate Literacy Lead Teacher and 5 Support Team Members

Silver – Builds on the Bronze Award. The Sustainability and Climate Literacy Leadership Team (6 Teachers) deepen their knowledge to become Certified Carbon Literacy Teachers and can then train all the staff in the school. The Leadership Team adapt and refine the existing curriculum towards a cross-curricular climate curriculum.

Gold – The 6 Sustainability & Climate Literacy and Certified Carbon Literacy Teachers do the Transition Engineering Teacher Training.

We make it easy for schools & teachers to achieve success.

Enabling teachers. Teachers have the opportunity to increase their climate and carbon literacy as they move through the Awards program and our Certified Professional Development [CPD]

Encouraging Teachers’ lifelong learning. We are working with university partners so that teachers at the Gold and Platinum Award will get credit towards a Masters or PhD program

Enhancing the existing curriculum. Our schemes of work makes it easier for schools and teachers to build their knowledge, develop their very own cross-curricular climate curriculum and confidently incorporate climate and carbon literacy throughout their existing curriculum as if it were a golden thread.

Involving the student community. Our schemes of work make it easier for schools and teachers to help students build critical thinking skills and become active and engaged citizens. In addition, we have plans to launch #ZeroFoodWaste for all our schools in winter/spring 2022.

Developing global citizens. In addition to our schemes of work that activate students for climate action, schools receive an invitation to build an exclusive partnership with a school in a developing country [LEDC] without international travel at the Gold Award. Share the experience, deepen the learning and double the impact

Creating inclusive and coherent student pathways to higher education. We are designing a teacher-led student journey from early education through to students aged 15 – 18.  The Platinum Award and pathways to higher education are currently in development.

Supporting school communities in becoming hubs for climate action.
